| Notes/Terms: | Registration closes on Friday, March 20 at 5:00 pm. Sections may sell out before this time. There is NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION for this event. By registering online, you will not need to check. Upon your arrival, verify that you are on the posted pre-tournament pairing list. Please bring a copy of your confirmation email in the event there is an error. Pairings: Join the Hunter Tournament Announcements WhatsApp group to receive alerts when pairings are posted during the event: https://chat.whatsapp.com/I5FX1CMkMwECMSZn1BOvbv**USCF-rated, except where noted. Bring clocks and score pads. (Unrated sections do not require clocks; notation is recommended but not required.) Chess sets are provided for all sections except Future Masters and Premiere. Ratings: Rated section use published rating unless parent emails hunter@nscfchess.org. Do not add a comment during registration as we do not receive notification on that. Unrated sections: No clocks. Notation not required. These sections are designed to introduce beginning chess players to competition. No US Chess membership is required. If a player has some rated experience, the maximum allowable rating is 300. If a player with a rating (300, or below) chooses to play in an unrated section, the tournament organizer still reserves the right to review the player's tournament history and move the player into a rated section. This decision may not be appealed. Prizes: Trophies to all players scoring 3 points or more in 4 round sections. For tournament postponement and delay notices, check the NSCF Facebook page. Changes and Cancelation: Any request related to change sections, bye requests, joining waitlist or cancellation, please email directly hunter@nscfchess.org to ensure your request is received and responded to. Emails to Event4Chess.com will not be handled by our tournament staff. The TDs will not handle request as such. REFUNDS/CANCELLATION POLICY (REVISED effective November 1, 2023): If your child cannot play in this event, you may withdraw by emailing directly to hunter@nscfchess.org no later than the end of registration (5 pm on Friday before the event). Refunds are subject to a $10 fee which covers administrative and credit card processing charges or you may apply the entire entry fee to a future Hunter tournament within the same school year. There will be no refunds or credits given for withdrawals after 5 pm on Friday. Too many people have been signing up, holding a spot and then withdrawing for credit when it is too late to give the spot to another child. We appreciate your understanding. Refunds must be requested by email; no telephone withdrawals or refund requests. To request a refund, email hunterchess@gmail.com prior to the tournament. Refunds will be will be processed within 7 days after the tournament. Late cancelations are not eligible for refund or credit. If you are unable to attend the tournament the last minute, please email us by 8:30 AM on Sunday. Supervision & Photo Release Policy: All participants under 16 must have an adult supervisor during the tournament. The NSCF and/or Hunter Chess does not provide supervision between games. Also note: Photography and/or video recording occurs at most NSCF and/or Hunter tournament events. By registering your child for this event, you hereby give permission for your child's name and/or picture to appear on the NSCF and/or Hunter Chess website/promotion. If for any reason this is not acceptable, please advise tournament staff PRIOR to the first round of the tournament.
