Booster & Primary (4 rounds): Arrive by: 9:30am; First Round: 9:45am. 2-3 Unrated, K-1 Unrated (4 rounds): Arrive by: 9:45am; First Round: 10:00am. Approximate end time for rated sections is 4:00 pm. Unrated sections typically end around 3:00. Sections may end sooner and awards are presented as quickly as possible after the completion of all rounds in any given section. |

Notes/Terms: | No at the door entries. Advance registration only. Please note for lunches and snacks, GCDS is a Nut-Free school. By registering online, you will not need to check in. Upon your arrival, verify that you are on the advanced entry list. Please bring a copy of your confirmation email in the event there is an error. The tournament is open to students in K-12. Sections are divided by grade and/or rating as specified. USCF-rated, except where noted. Bring clocks and score pads. Chess sets are provided. (Unrated sections do not require clocks; notation is recommended but not required.) Unrated sections: These sections are designed to introduce beginning chess players to competition. No US Chess membership is required. PRIZES: AWARDS CEREMONIES begin as soon as possible, after each section is completed. Individual Prizes: Top 5 players in each section. Team Prizes: Top 2 school teams per section. Aggregate of top 4 scores determines the team score. Special Prizes for Future Masters: The first place winner in the Future Masters section will receive a $150 award, and the 2nd place winner will receive a $50 award, towards the purchase of chess books to improve their games. Winners can purchase their favorite chess books from a chess book seller, retail store or online, give us the receipt and the NSCF will reimburse the winner up to the award amount. Need tips on the best books to pick? Ask Matan and he will have some great recommendations! Please note, the award is for physical books only. For tournament postponement and delay notices, check our Facebook page. Changes: If you need to change sections, or for any other assistance, email tournaments@nscfchess.org. Refunds/Cancellation Policy: If you cannot play in an event you have registered for, you may withdraw by emailing tournaments@nscfchess.org prior to the tournament. Emails must be received by 5:00 PM on the Thursday prior to the event to qualify for refund or credit. All refunds or credits must be requested by email; no telephone withdrawals for such requests. There will be no refunds given for No-Shows. Refunds are subject to a $10 fee which covers administrative and credit card processing charges or you may apply the entire entry fee to a future event within the same school year. To request a refund for unused credit, email tournaments@nscfchess.org. Refunds will be processed within 7 days after the tournament. Supervision & Photo Release Policy: All participants under 16 must have an adult supervisor during the tournament. The NSCF does not provide supervision between games. Also note: Photography and/or video recording occurs at most NSCF tournament events. By registering your child for this event, you hereby give permission for your child's name and/or picture to appear on the NSCF website/promotion. If for any reason this is not acceptable, please advise tournament staff PRIOR to the start of the tournament.
