Notes/Terms: | NSCF Level 3: Improving Technique in Middle Games and Endgames (7 weeks) Students who have not completed Level 2 are required to pass a placement test or have instructor permission prior to starting this series of classes. Part A (7 weeks) – In this course, students will learn more tactics that win material and study checkmating patterns that can happen in the middle game. Part B (7 weeks) – In Part B, we focus on the endgame and how to convert material and positional advantages into wins. At the end of this course, students will be given an online test. Students passing with a rate of 80% or higher, will receive a Certificate of Completion. It is expected that students completing this course will be able to initiate and maintain control of a process that, if properly executed, will result in victory. Upon completion of Part B, students’ chess knowledge should correspond to a US Chess over-the-board rating of approximately 1200. Part A is open for registration now. Part B will be offered beginning in November. PLEASE NOTE: This is a series of classes. We will not accept students for a single class or on a pro-rata basis. Any questions, please contact the office by email or by calling: (914) 683-5322. |
