DESCRIPTION: Novice, but Beyond the Basics – The NSCF is pleased to present an online version of our small group classes. Over the course of 5 online classes, Coach Chris will help students develop the skills needed to have success with chess, including in competition. Skills include chess tactics, time management, and tournament tips. In this course, students will learn 1) key concepts of how to get strong positions out of the opening; 2) basic tactics and maneuvers to get winning positions in the middlegame, and 3) how to turn advantages into wins through basic pawn promotion and checkmating strategies.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a series of classes. We will not accept students for a single class or on a pro-rata basis. Any questions, please contact Robert or Mo by email or by calling the office: (754) 229-5901.
