Notes/Terms: | INSTRUCTOR: FM RAMON LORENTE PUPO DESCRIPTION: The NSCF is proud to introduce a series of classes for our aspiring Future Masters players. These classes are especially for active tournament players rated 1300+ USCF (or who have had a peak rating in that range). FM Ramon Lorente Pupo has built championship winning teams in his native Cuba and Portugal before emigrating to the USA. Classes will see players take a deep dive into many of the concepts from the new Best Lessons of a Chess Coach Extended Edition (by FM Sunil Weeramantry and Ed Eusebi, Mongoose Fall 2019)–outposts, weak squares, the dynamic elements of an attacking game, and establishing positional advantages that allow a player to control the course of the game. Players will delve into how we make better decisions at the chess board with the goal of performing better in tournaments, and in life! Dates: Sept 7, 14, 21, 28, Oct 5, 12, 19, 26, Nov 9 PLEASE NOTE: This is a series of classes. We will not accept students for a single class or on a pro-rata basis. Any questions, please contact Fabiola by email or by calling the office: (914) 683-5322.
