Chatham Challenge Quads

This is a chess tournament for grades K-8.

Players will be placed into groups of four based on rating, unrated players participating in their first tournament will be sorted by age. Quads are non-elimination, and each player will play everyone in their group for a total of three games.

  • This event will be rated by the United States Chess Federation. All participants will need an active USCF membership ($17/year)
  • Pre-registered players should arrive around 9:40am, players needing to register the day of should arrive at 9:00am
  • For players using chess clocks, the time control is Game/25 with a 5-second delay
  • Trophies will be awarded to the winners of each quad and chess medals will be given to players that score one draw (tie) or better
  • Once rated by the USCF, you will be able to see your child's rating and playing history by clicking here

Online registration is $33 until 12:00pm Saturday, 1/18, at which point online registration closes. On-site registration will be available strictly from 9:00am - 9:30am on Sunday for $40. The tournament should end at 1:00pm at the latest. Chess sets are provided, but bring a chess clock if you have one.
